The lighthouse and the Galaxy in Midsummer (Sado City, Niigata Prefecture) Niigata
Sawasakihama Lighthouse is the tallest lighthouse in Sado that exceeds 24.2m.
And it protects the sea at the southwestern tip of the island.
The galaxy stood competing for height with the lighthouse.
The poet Akiko Yosano write her tanka about this lighthouse. On Sado Island, you can see the galaxy wherever you are, like a planetarium.
