Tumairi's Cityscape (Izumozaki-machi) Niigata

In Izumozaki-machi, Niigata Prefecture, there is a 4km cityscape along the coastline.
This is an architectural method called "Tumairi" with a narrow frontage and a long depth..
The feature is that the eaves are connected so that the houses overlap, and the main ridge is at right angles.
This cityscape is the longest in Japan.
In addition, Izumozaki is the birthplace of "Ryokan(Buddhist monk)" and has appeared on "Oku no Hosomichi"written by "Matuo Basho".
