Another name for the "Kagaminuma" near the summit of Hachimantai at an altitude of 1613 meters that spans Iwate and Akita prefectures when the snow melts.

Water flows into Kagami-numa, which was covered with snow, by the melting of snow, the surface of the lake gradually emerges from the edge of the swamp, and a snow island remains in the center.
Since this figure looks like a "dragon's eye", it has come to be called "Dragon Eye".

It is a valuable landscape that can only be seen for about two weeks from mid-May to mid-June every year.
