Spring in the snowy country (Uonuma City) Niigata
The season is late March.
However, Uonuma City, which is the heaviest snowfall area in Japan, is still covered with snow.
The Kan-Etsu Expressway and the Joetsu Shinkansen, which are the main transportation arteries that connect Niigata and Tokyo, run here.
Uonuma City recorded the deepest snowfall of 409 cm in January of this year.
The mountains in the back are Mt. Echigo Komagatake and Mt. Nakanodake from the left.
Both mountains are over 2,000m above sea level. The snow on this mountain will melt after Golden Week.
