Shingen TAKEDA　was a daimyo (Japanese territorial lord) in the Sengoku period in the Kai Province (Yamanashi Prefecture) and I think this picture represents his common idea of Fu-Rin-Ka-Zan, which is "as fast as wind, as quiet as forest, as fierce as fire, as unshakable as mountain".
