Wakamiya Okusu Nara

Wakamiya Okusu is about 100m east from the south gate of Kasuga Taisha Shrine, along the approach lined with stone lanterns, and is located on the right hand side of the stone steps leading up to the shrine. Behind the stone lanterns, a huge, moss-covered tree towers over the approach. It is said to be the largest tree in Nara Prefecture with the largest trunk circumference.
