Izuhara Spring Tochigi
Izuruhara Bentenike spring water is a natural monument designated by Tochigi Prefecture and is counted as one of Japan's top 100 waters certified by the Ministry of the Environment. With a circumference of about 138m, it is made of fresh water that gushes out from a cave formed by dissolving paleozoic limestone. The amount of spring water is a constant 2,400 (cubic meters/day) throughout the year, and the water temperature is 16 degrees Celsius. is the source of the Izuru River. The water is used for fish farms, parks, and downstream for agriculture, and is familiar to local people. In addition, the legend of Asahichoja related to gold reserves is hidden in this pond.
